Here is a very very good debut from Welsh four piece Young Garbo, a band already being championed by a host of great names. Recently signing to Creation23 to release the single the band are making big waves and fast, being added to the bill at this year’s Truck Fest the latest in long line of solid touch points to be added to the ever growing list. ‘Faustus’ was released a couple of weeks back and is giving the people what they want and there will be plenty more to come with a debut album already in the works.
‘Faustus’ is a good signifier of what might be to come from these ambitious young lads, sharp, in your face indie at its finest. Brash guitar lines lead the way for a gritty vocal to bounce around on top of, all the while reminding us of early Arctic Monkeys with that relatable edge. Young Garbo make this sound their own with subtle guitar solos and upbeat, melodic choruses. Top stuff from a band whose stock will be rising very fast this year.
