Back in 2017 Leicester based five-piece Easy Life released what has to be considered their breakthrough single ‘Pockets’, a track that is still popping up in high places – Most recently on the Fifa 19 soundtrack no less. Their stand-out for 2018 is undoubtably the relatably dark yet dreamy ‘Nightmares’, featuring the signature brass sounds that play a major role in almost all of the band’s output. ‘Nightmares’ carried on the trend of being placed in front of major audiences with the band being invited to perform the track on Jools Holland.

The accompanying video adds another level to the charm that these guys have, it’s an easy watching, fun three and a half minutes that compliments the audio so incredibly perfectly. Signing to Island Records earlier this year, Easy Life have also come through with a slew of new releases that, with ‘Nightmares’ at the forefront, is sure to win them a bunch of new fans on 2019.

Speaking on the track alongside it’s original release, lead singer Murray stated “‘Nightmares’ started with the trumpet sample that we loved from Dionne Warwick’s version of Burt Bacharach’s ‘Loneliness Remembers What Happiness Forgets’. This instantly gave us the feels, and the rest just kind of fell into place.”
