Thursday’s Track Of The Day comes through from West Coast duo (and best friends) Bad Wave and their latest offering ‘Blue’. The new single comes as part of an upcoming EP scheduled for Jan 25. Taking influence from a range of canonical artists of years past, Bad Wave have honed in on a sound more closely related to synth-pop with a subtle underlying hint of indie-rock influence.
There is something distinctly mysterious about ‘Blue’, but what I find challenging is that it also sound so familiar, the warmth of the track feels like it has been with me for years. The way in which synths dip and dive around almost feels like they are wrapping you in sound, bringing you into the song. ‘Blue’ is certainly on of those tracks that you can become lost within, if only for a moment.
