Grizzly Coast is the musical project of Toronto based indie-rock musician Alannah Kavanagh and the new single ‘Catch & Release’ comes as another display of the artist’s insightful lyrics and wide ranging rock influences.
‘Catch & Release’ opens in a dreamy fashion with mellow guitars and a delicate vocal melody, but it soon grows in size with Kavanagh showcasing the power in their vocals. On the surface there this single is drenched in dream pop tones but look a little deeper at there is a big influence coming from a more alt rock sphere with the structure of the song and some of the breakdowns feeling fairly reminiscent of Foo Fighters more relaxed output. Make no mistake this is not an alt rock copy but the similarities are there to be heard… if you want to.
