Charity Shop Pop is the monicker used by Dave Hughes, the budding bedroom-pop artist from Ormskirk that has given us this gem of track ‘Always You’. Using his guitar and a MacBook he bought from a charity shop, Dave creates shimmering, chilled-out bops complete with lush melodies and jangling guitar hooks to dance to.
‘Always You’ is an effortlessly shiny and razor sharp offering underlined by a understated, shy intelligence that has started to develop a cult following in Liverpool. Having supported the likes of Ali Horn and Witch Fever, Charity Shop Pop is stepping out far from the confines of his bedroom and will surely be turning a few more heads in 2019.
