Celebrating their debut album, French four-piece Brace! Brace! released the single ‘I’m A Jelly’ last month to great applause, and no wonder. ‘I’m A Jelly’ is a smooth indie dream of a track. Full of jangled guitars and lazy vocals it really appeals to the slacker in us all and stays true to itself throughout.
Despite this feeling, there is a real pop sense that bubbles away under the surface and easily draws comparisons to Kurt Vile or their fellow countrymen Papooz. If this is an offering from their debut album then we cannot wait to hear what they have to give next, there is a cult following out there waiting to get their claws into something like this.
