London’s Benedict Benjamin shares his excellent new single ‘Ain’t Easy’ announcing his second album ‘Truant’ set to be released on May 3. Benedict Benjamin’s debut album ‘Night Songs’, produced by Dan Blackett (Landshapes, Bella Union), came out in 2016 as has since become a father. Our Congratulations.

‘Ain’t Easy’ is really swell, beautiful 60s-esque instrumentation effortlessly pulls the track into a nostalgic realm with Benjamin’s soaring vocals putting a cherry on the top. There are modern tones in Benjamin’s voice adding a delicacy that comes around only so often and sets the artist apart from the next singer songwriter. ‘Ain’t Easy’ is a truly thoughtful piece of music, every moment, every dynamic has been carefully crafted to draw maximum effect – However subtle it may be.

Speaking on the release of ‘Ain’t Easy’, Benedict said: “This song’s about how much work you’ve got to put into relationships and bands in order to make them work. It’s about how hard it sometimes is just to keep things afloat and not pack it all in. You go through good spells where everything is great and bad spells where everything feels crap and difficult. When you’re in one of the latter you either persevere or you just give up, and this song’s about the persevering.”
