Here is a little beauty from Brighton based Klae. Relatively new to the scene with ‘Sidelines’ being just their third single, Klae have a remarkably accomplished sound that draws on tonnes of modern indie influences. The five piece are already proving popular in their hometown and with this release the band look certain to reach audiences nationwide
‘Sidelines’ starts delicately, giving vocalist Lizzie Coulson’s stunning voice room to take centre stage. The track builds slowly into a much more upbeat affair with clean and intricate guitar lines that almost have a math rock feel to them at times. ‘Sidelines’ immediately conjures comparisons to early Foals but in my mind places Klae much closer to the sound of their fellow-Brightoners FOURS.
