Ballsy and boisturous 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝘄𝗹 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁 smash through your speaker with a barrage of beasty riffs and then drag you into the depths of their melodic immersive and emotive sound.
‘My Heart Runs Deep‘ begins with this dark descending sludgy guitar line. It growls with a ferocious and feral energy that is as monstrous as it is monumentally massive.
The maelstrom subsides and in the wake of the chaotic carnage the wreckage reveals a beating heart of that sings out with a brutally passionate and poignant honesty.
The switch from the fury of the intro into the more melodic and calm is jarring at first but as it settles in, the poetry of the lyrics and the emotion in the dissonant dance of the guitar create a beautiful duet.
The chorus finds a powerfully perfect middle ground between the ferocity of the instrumentation in the intro and the grunge inspired lethargy of the verses. It comes together with a whirlwind of energy and it allows the vocals to truly soar.
As an introduction to The Bawl Slant sound this works perfectly as it showcases the full prismatic rainbow of their soundscape.
If you like what you hear I highly recommend checking out the Teething EP which is a little grungier and a lot growlier!
You should also check out Tukkasotka’s online store. The artist behind The Bawl Slants single and EP covers has an instantly recognisable style that is arresting, mesmeric, and utterly unique.
