Dutch band Niko started out as an experiment during time spent in Los Angeles, finding their niche the band quickly released the 2018 EP ‘You Might Like It, But I Might Just Hate It’. The band have carved out a strong fan base through a string of shows and festivals as well as this the quartet have been quietly working away behind the scenes recording new material for a body of work in August.  ‘Myself’ is the first single from this new material and comes through in stunning fashion.

Fast paced, punk influenced and upbeat, ‘Myself’ shines as the kind of simple indie rock track defines bands. Nothing is over complicated and the whole track is soaked in an inherent energy that is as infectious as it is charming. While there are hints of punk rock here, the track also nods towards 70s rock with its guitar riffs but also towards the early 00s New York indie scene through its melodies and tone. ‘Myself’ is not as simple as it may seem on the surface, just give it a few more listens and you’ll soon see for yourself.
