‘Too Fast’ is a short, sweet little number from the New York based JW Francis. Originally born in Oklahoma before moving to Paris, JW Francis has been building a steady name for himself recently, releasing his ‘I’ll Love You Forever, Bye’ EP late last year. In his typically comical way, JW Francis mentions that “Too Fast’ is a song about things going too fast.” and at just 1:33 the single itself seems to pass by too fast.
With woozy, hazy feeling this new single is a chilled, laid back masterpiece. Its melodies are charming and playful whilst retro-tinged synths build a deeper soundscape in which the track really finds itself. There is an underlying groove on ‘Too Fast’ enough to lure you in and hold your attention on the track whilst whimsical sounding guitars build interesting tones and hooks. It’s only short but it is really really sweet.
