The new single from Gamma Dog is a tasty little number for sure. Just their second release and they are already putting down a big marker for a sound that they are quickly making their own. Mixing early 00s alt rock influence with a hint of 90s surf and you come to ‘Wa’. The band date back to 2004 and over the course of many years have evolved, changed and re-shaped to become the SXSW slaying five piece known as Gamma Dog.
‘Wa’ comes through with a sense of swagger about it, it oozes confidence and charisma and shows the world that Gamma Dog are clearly a well oiled machine. Despite it’s alt edge it has a sense of buoyancy and brightness to it eluding to the band’s surf influences. With energy and vigour Gamma Dog will surely raise the roof when their debut full length release comes later this year.
