Dubai native Edwin Raphael has spent the last five years in Montreal developing, not only his sound, but his profile as one of the hottest emerging talents in the city and new single ‘Bergamot Feels’ is another step in solidifying the young artist’s position. Having released his ‘Ocean Walk’ EP back in 2015, Edwin took some time plying his trade on the live circuit before returning in 2017 with the ‘Cold Nights’ EP. With new material slowly coming through, it looks like now is the time for Edwin Raphael to drop a new body of work and we’ll be ready.
The new single is a luscious soundscape that in it’s opening moments might make you think that it is one of those relaxing instrumentals people listen to before they go to bed. Edwin’s gorgeous voice stands up front and centre with a mellow elegance that is tinged with a gravelly tone, sitting on top of wondrous guitar lines that take you away on a gentle journey through the track.
