Let’s make it three in a row for Glasgow’s music scene today. Altered Sky are the four piece alt rock group hailing from the city, which we have shown today has some rich and varied musical output at the moment. About to embark on five date tour of the UK finishing up in their hometown Altered Sky come through with their latest single ‘Surround’. The band have found themselves gracing the screens of all the major alt rock music channels, as well as extensive tours worldwide.
‘Surround’ is their latest offering, channelling the early sounds of pop punk acts such as Paramore and mixing them with a range of alt rock sounds – The result is an uptempo, fist clenching four minutes of superb rock. Bringing through all the melodic intent from the more commercial influences Altered Sky have, the band seamlessly blend this with heavier tones and metal inflections.
“This is a very emotionally-driven song, bridging the gap between our old material and our newer, heavier stuff” explains front-woman Ana Nowosielska. “Lyrically, it’s about knocking down those walls that people put up around themselves when they’re feeling isolated and trapped.”
