The midlands based, self described ‘Doom Pop’ trio Wishbone release the new single ‘Maelstrom’. This ripper is the second singls to be released from the band’s debut EP ‘Pseudo Planet’. If you are a fan of grungy riffs and sludgy punk sounds this is for you.
The track opens with a deep, grizzly riff and soon mellows out into a 90s, Soundgarden-esque sound before driving back down into dark, heavy riffs. It’s not all noise though, Wishbone drop some super melodies over the top to let the track really stand on its own two feet. A real neat throwback sound coming from these guys, get involved.
