These boys have been going for just a little while, The Velocet are the New York based band that developed themselves in the early 00s thanks to the thriving scene that they found themselves at the centre of. Once signed to the iconic Eyeball Records they have had their music featured on hit TV show One Tree Hill and are now coming back around with a brand new re-issue of their early material in preparation for a new body of work later in the year.

‘Chinatown’ has that indie swagger about it, the one that you would expect given its rich history. It has elements of The Strokes, but also brings in something a little British, perhaps a hint of punk attitude that you might find on a The Subways record. No wonder these guys made such a statement over a decade ago with this record, but it is the track’s ability to hold its own still twelve years later that really gets you excited for a new album.
