The Tennessee born indie rock band The Criticals share their latest single ‘Kansas City’. Forming in 2018, the band consist of friends Parker Forbes and Cole Shugart. who started writing about youth, lust, and the primal aspects of life in their hometown of Nashville.
The latest single carries on from the rave reviews the band received across their releases last year. ‘Kansas City’ dips between the sounds of different influence. At times feeling spacious and left field with hints of early Gus Dapperton, but this soon overridden by a gritter indie sound that feels reminiscent of the 00s scene in New York – A more guttural, alternative rock sound that harks back to decades past but still feels more than relevant today.
