Not often you get a band from Matlock but that is precisely what you have with disco pop band Patawawa. Having been plugging away for a few years, Patawawa have seen themselves named as The Guardian’s band of the week as well as being one of the most play acts on BBC Introducing East Midlands for three years in a row. The trio now come through with their latest single ‘Never Been Better’ and continue to receive praise across the online world. It can only be a matter of time before their name becomes much more of a household one.
‘Never Been Better’ is absolutely packed with 90s disco influence, pure dancefloor filling energy and infectious hooks. Underpinning the whole operation is an inherent indie feeling that sets the three-piece apart and allows their music to transcend audiences of many genres in spectacular fashion. The new single comes from the upcoming EP ‘London, Paris, New York, Matlock’ as well as performances at this years The Great Escape and will certainly catapult Patawawa into the limelight.
