‘Moon Cats’ is the last single to be released from Winnipeg based artist JayWood’s debut LM ‘Time’ that was released back in July. A project that started as ‘sad jangle pop songs’in JayWood’s bedroom has fast become something with a little more substance, but something that retains all the charm of a DIY artist.
‘Moon Cats’ is a beautiful stroll, it meanders through its hooks and rhythms with a sense of melancholic joy that lets the track simply float along. it’s one of the more laid back tracks I’ve heard recently that has actually pulled me in and kept my attention. The track is Tame Impala-ish in its delayed guitars and its vocal calls you in to their soothing arms. A real touch of quality from a relatively fresh artist.
