This is a really fresh release, the first single from new East London band French Nancy – A project that is merely months old. Bursting out of the gates with a double A-Side release, ‘Fading Out’ is on one of those very sides. A remarkably accomplished track for a band this early on.
‘Fading Out’ moulds hazy 80s guitars and dreamy vocals into a thing of beauty, at times it hints at the early work of Foals and at other times it feels like a nod towards The Cure. There are elements of dream-pop influence as well as an underlaying energy that pulses along with the track creating an atmosphere that oozes with purpose.
