Dancing Tongues is the musical project from creative duo Alex Lavayen and Kevin Modry that came together once the pair up sticks to LA and began writing songs together. The result is heavily 70s and 80s inspired punk sounds, with influences as far ranging as The Cure, and Talking Heads.
New track ‘Shotgun’ comes through with a mellow energy that pulses throughout, maybe lacking the raw aggression that you’d normally associate with the punk movement. With a vocal reminiscent of Iggy Pop and basslines that feel as if they have been plucked from a Cure track, this new single if packed full of vintage pop and punk influences and creates a wonderfully dark and moody offering.
