German indie pop outfit LIONLION returned in February with their first single since the release of their debut album ‘The Atlas Idea’ early last year. Now the band come through with their latest offering ‘Oceans Rise’ having booked out their summer with festival performances and live shows across their native Germany. Things continue to build for the band who will be looking to make even bigger breakthroughs in 2019.
‘Oceans Rise’ holds an interesting set of melodies, that have a odd, playful charm to them and from the moment the track starts you are instantly captivated by what could be to come. The track is energetic, layered and gorgeous and doesn’t step out as your average single. Its arrangement is considered with seemingly no decision being taken lightly and in turn ‘Oceans Rise’ presents itself as a stand out release from a band that need to be heard.
Speaking about their new release, the band state “‘Oceans Rise’ is about the courage to see things from a different perspective. It’s about staying in motion, trying new things and taking chances. How can we overcome our boundaries and rise above our own limited view? A significant question that preoccupies the songwriters Matthias & Michael Rückert on their creative journey, and one that perpetually arises in the band’s pursuit of artistic ideals – along with all the obstacles that come with that kind of self-realisation. Perspective is a matter of viewpoint: how do I perceive my life and does it match my feelings?”
